The Boys & Girls Club of Rockford has been selected by the Taco Bell Foundation as a recipient of a grant in the amount of $17,490.00 for the 2017-2018 school year. The grant will be used specifically for teen programs that focus on academic success and good character and leadership skills.
The Taco Bell Foundation™ has partnered with Boys & Girls Clubs of America for nearly 20 years, helping more than half a million teen members annually on their path to graduation. With this support for our teen strategy initiative, an estimated 78% of our teen members are on track to graduate from high school.
To continue our work together, BGCA launched its Great Futures Campaign, a bold initiative to transform the Boys & Girls Clubs Movement with a vision for every teen member graduating on time, college or career ready. BGCA seeks to help Clubs close the gap between the 97% of Club teens who expect to graduate and the 78% of Club teens actually on track to graduate. When 1 out of 5 teens drops out of school each year, we have a responsibility to serve more teens, more often, to ensure more graduates and improve the future outlook for the nation and our communities.
The Boys & Girls Club of Rockford has served the Rockford community since 1908 offering a unique and wide variety of educational, recreational, cultural and social activities for youth between the ages of 6 and 18. Clubs nurture and enrich young lives by giving boys and girls opportunities for personal growth and achievement. There are presently fiver sites in the Rockford / Machesney Park area.
